Plot Summary: Love gets a second chance in this engaging, humorous story of two stubborn people who come to realize that some feelings never completely die out. Thirty-something Andromeda (Andie) Miller wants nothing more than to cut ties with her handsome ex-hubby North and move on with her life. Fate has other things in store for her though, and she is roped into traveling to a creepy old house in the middle of nowhere to look after a troubled brother and sister that North has been made guardian of. What she doesn’t know is that she is about to be dropped right into the middle of a television news crew, a cranky housekeeper, spirited children behaving badly, malevolent ghosts, an exasperated medium, a jealous fiancé, and more trouble than she can shake a stick at. Maybe This Time is a spirited romp filled with equal parts eerie and romantic. Cruise’s characters are quirky and likeable, and her heroine is easy to root for. Contemporary romance fans will find much to enjoy, as will other readers looking for an enjoyable diversion.
